Just dropping in to say G'day ..
After not having an FC since 1988 but a love of them still, went out on a limb the other night and bought a windowless panel off eBay . Buying a car from photos alone is not always the best idea as i'm sure we all know but hey panels don't come up everyday and rust can always be fixed (well nearly always )..
Will post some pics when it gets home and I get home to see it as I work away consistently..

While i'm at it the FC I had in 88 was an original black business sedan which as a young bloke back then had to sell due to circumstances .. In all the years since then I haven't seen another business sedan . I took it to the Nth Parramatta FC club meetings at Maccas a couple of times back then and everyone seemed to be a little excited when they saw it , as always another one of them cars you wished you didn't have to sell .. Sold it to a bloke over Liverpool way if anyone has any recollection of it ( just out of curiosity )..
Anyway good to see all the usefull info in the tech sections which i'm a little vague on now ..

Cheers Fred

Hey Fred.
When you mentioned the club drivein run on Leons post, I dug up a couple of pics from 1988 with your old black car at Blacktown drivein.

I don't think it would, not unless you want a swift upper cut while laying down & dental work on the way up

Business Sedans I think were fitted with Taxi Bars from the factory, Ken (mcl1959) would know for certain, my Standard FC Wagon also had one & I have seen them fitted to a few other Standard Sedans as well.

I suppose if you wanted both you would just have to be careful, or take the bar out

Alex , that's friggin unreal !!!  I only have one pic of that car and it was in the back ground of the said pic I have and not all there , so for you to come up with these two shots is the best  ... Ahh the memories...

As to how the camp seat worked , well it worked fine from what I can remember ..
You had to take the front seat as far forward as possible ( this bits a little foggy now) then you would release another lever of sorts and it would go back , cleared the Taxi bar no worries .. hard to see but the seat is a little lower then the bar ( have a look in Leons thread and one of the pics in there shows this from behind a lot better ) .. Pushing the seat forward enabled it to fit in unison with the back seat ,  no problem worked well ..
Any more recollection from here on would be just made up , so I'll shut up   Smiley
