Some time ago there was a post about two small cup head bolts that could not be identified. They were chrome slotted head with a flat washer type barrier then the thread, some suggested they fitted the cowl vent, others the vent handle rod. I think I have just found out what they are for! I can't for the life of me find the original thread so if someone can find it and post it, I'll see if my theory is correct.

Thanks Graeme, just had a look but alas, it's not what I had in mind. While checking parts for the doors, I came across similar bolts from the rear door remote lock tab pivot. These bolts have a slot in the head and the round washer segment is not flattened and only half the thickness.
