That's a Florida Flash I believe.  There was a further flash piece to go at the rear as well.

Try steve with red and cream blown 6 fc wagon

Red?  I wouldn't tell Steve that his car is red. He gets funny about that sort of thing.  Wink  Orange.

GP had the same happen on his FC I think on the way home from Perth.  I'm sure he can tell you what you need to do - and it involves a respray of the roof.

I'm glad you're home safe, but a shame to see that sort of damage.

71  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: who's on what boat on: March 25, 2014, 01:32:47 PM
Did you hear the one about the people who booked a place on a boat to go to the Nats, but thought there would be no difficulty getting on a boat a week after the Nats to go home, only to find the boat is fully booked if you want to take your car home?  Now that would never happen to anyone, would it? Roll Eyes

Did someone say something about needing a Plan B? Wink

See you at the Nats.

72  General / FE-FC Holden Nationals / Re: Food, Petrol, Parking etc in-around Hobart on: March 24, 2014, 05:19:44 PM
Hi - Can I order one (vegetarian) lunch please.  My accompanying person (who I usually refer to as my wife Pauline) won't be flying in until late afternoon, so won't be needing feeding at lunchtime.

There is nothing like a deadline to concentrate the  mind.  Good luck - I'll be looking over your car in Hobart in one month's time.

74  General / Events, Shows etc / ACT Wheels Day - 16 March 2014 on: March 10, 2014, 09:07:58 AM
ACT Wheels Day is on again.  A new venue again this year - Kings Park, near the Carillion.  Everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a club member to display your car.  The ACT club will be meeting outside Old Parliament House at 8.00am and driving across together, so feel free to join us there if you like.

Go to the club website (http://oldgmh.wordpress.com/) for details including a parking map.  Entry is from Parkes Way westbound (2nd entrance).

If you can't bring a car, come and have a look anyway.  Its a day for all the local car clubs of all makes to get out and get cars on display.

See you there,
David

76  Technical Board / General Technical / Re: Speedo problems on: March 04, 2014, 09:42:30 AM
My speedo has been doing this for years on and off.  It is worse in cold weather and so I thought it may be temperature related.  Looks like I need to lubricate the wick.  I'll give a go and see if my flighty speedo settles down.

John - I've sent you 2 PMs and got no reply - am I doing something wrong here?  It says above to PM you for the models not offered through your website and for postage on multiples.

80  Galleries / Other Images / An interesting record on: December 28, 2013, 02:11:07 PM
Santa (well my wife actually) came up with a beaut little record of the use of an FE sedan in the 1960's.  The owner of what is entered on the "Vital Information" page as a 1957 Holden sedan has recorded the mileage travelled every day from 13 May 1964 to 24 October 1965.  The front cover has "IV" written on it, which suggests that it is book 4 of records of this type.  There is a trip from Canberra to Melbourne and around Victoria undertaken from 2 January 1965.

He has calculated his petrol usage at 28m.p.g. at one point.  He spent 13 pounds, 10 shillings and 4 pence for 63 gallons for the Victoria trip.

Here are the images of some of the pages and entries.
