65  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: WHICH SUMP TO USE ON 304 on: May 16, 2020, 09:31:07 AM
Should be ok mal that is very similar to what they used to do to HR crossmembers.
When I do my V6 mock ups for engine mounts I put the crossmember on the floor and lower the engine on to it without it in the subchassis if you did similar with a sump fitted you would be able to check clearance maybe.

67  For Sale and Wanted / Cars For Sale / Neils FC Sedan "FireKraka" on: May 14, 2020, 09:29:25 AM
After much deliberation I've decided to put my V6 FC Sedan "FireKraka" up for sale (regrettably) only reason is I have other projects on the go and run out of room at home, car is currently in my company workshop in Henderson, Western Australia.

This feels like selling your first born child  Cry Cry Cry

I've owned the car since 1996, the bodywork was done and the car painted 2 years before I bought it, car has always been garaged and paint work in great condition.
I did the V6 conversion starting around 2010 and had it engineered and registered in 2014/15, it is fully engineered and registered in Western Australia.

Driveline is VP Series 2 bottom end, refurbished VR cylinder heads fitted 2 years ago (9:1 compression), twin throttle body manifold, V6 Conversions extractors.
TH700 R4 automatic gearbox, narrowed commodore 3.08 LSD, 4 wheel disc brakes, standard commodore rear HZ/WB aluminum girlock calipers up front on drop spindles.
V6 Conversions Rack and pinion steering behind HR crossmember, custom billet steering column, wooden sports steering wheel.
Commodore floor hump, standard commodore shifter, recovered commodore front bucket seats, standard commodore 65 litre fuel tank.
I'm sure there are other smaller things I'm missing, I always have trouble posting photos on the forum so if anybody is interested I can email photos or you can see some in 'Completed Projects' under FireKraka on the first page.

Looking for $35K negotiable, you can email me on neil.hughes@man-es.com or phone on 0423 827 973

Hi Mal
Welcome to the forum lots of good people here and great help when needed.
Have you thought of using a VN,VP, VR LSD instead of the 9 inch, I've used them in my V6 FC sedan and my V6 EK Ute; I recently fitted a SBC 305 and a 9 inch to a friends FC sedan and have to say that I thought it was an overkill along with being quite a large diff of course we call it customizing and it is every-bodies own choice but just my 2 bobs worth.

If you are going to buy a donor car for the engine and gearbox etc may be worth also using the diff.

Good luck and I hope we see a lot of pictures of your progress.

I'm with the rest of you guys, when I was gathering parts for Frankenstein (my EK Ute) I wound up with a couple of sets of back window glass and quickly noted that the sets were different so just had to figure out which was right for the EK and put the other one (FE/FC I assume) away.
