Depends where you are, if in NSW & if it is stock standard, then you can register it without belts.

This is providing there are no belts fitted, if they are fitted I think you have to retain & maintain them, although it is easy enough to weld or plug up the holes if you don't want them.

I have registered 2 FE's, without belts, the last being around 4 years ago & no probs.

If you are in VIC then I think it is mandatory to fit belts regardless.

Don't know about other states, in NSW I think it is rta.com

Good luck, Gary

Thanks for that Gary :) If anyone else can help that would be good. Cheers

Your best bet would be to contact the Rego Authority in your state.
In SA you can pretty much do as you please as FCs didn't come out with belts fitted.

;)howdy in VIC you dont have to fit them,as my fc went through reg 8 months ago with none in the rear, but i was once a tow truck operator, and i would fit them in the front at least as ive seen them save many a life or two!!!! ;)cheers jamie
