He also had these little gems, you might like them Alex? I have reversed them with photoshop for here to make it easier to read. but they are a mirrior printing plate, he paid $5 bucks for them........

First one as they really look...

All these are reversed

Is that the price of the ute on the bottom of this one ? 910.00 pounds + tax?

tests have proven that the final words before a fatal urban car crash are "OH ****"

in a rural car crash they are " Hold my stubby and watch this for skill!"

Hey Nick,

You're a mighty fine hunter/tracker of the rare FE wagons.

Colour me GREEN, that would be enough to turn me into a restorer!

Wow, nice printing plates.
It always amazes me how these things are still out there.
Would you let him know I am willing to offer him a 100% increase on his investment. ;)
Thanks for sharing the pics.

Hey Nick...

Awesome find mate...!! :o :o
Both the wagon and the plates...!!

I don't know where you find all this stuff, but keep 'em coming mate! I love seeing what's still out there!

Can't wait to hear the story with this car.

Two FE wagons now eh? Congratulations!

Congrats Nick, what an awesome find!!! Can I perhaps ummm interest you in taking me along on one of your FE/FC-spotting expeditions in the future lol? ;) .... maybe I'll get lucky too. ;D

910 pounds plus tax .... sounds right for the starting price of an FE in 1956/57. Ahhh if only life was so uncomplicated like back then.

Just a little update on this wagon,
It was bought new in Chiltern, NE Vic. It only changed hands once and this is where the story starts...A farmer bought it for $50.00 about 12 years ago and while driving it home, it broke down(or so he thought!) After trying everything he finally stripped the heads off it to see if he could fix it(no luck) so he towed it home and took what parts off it for his FJ Ute...They then discoverd it had just run out of petrol...the old dodgy gauge!!!!.
This farmer also has what I'm told is a yellow FC(taxi?) in his  shed for 20 years! I am working on it....... ;D

The car has since been stored in his shed until two years ago when the new owner purchased the FJ, the wagon was a  throw in....(Nice throw in ..eh)
This wagon is for sale but don't attack with me pm's as I will post the owners details as soon as I get word from him.
Nick
P.s Alex, the printing plates take pride of place in his display cabinate and I don't think he would part with them ever. he actually bought them in a box of lead that he was planning to melt down for fishing weights!!!
p.p.s Another little bit of Trivia...the owner was born in an FJ ute...so he is an absolute Holden nut!!  ;D

Hey Nick.
Interesting story. Thanks for following up.
Pleased to hear that the printing plates will be treasured.
Now get out there and find out more about that yellow FC (taxi?).  ;)
