I have recently joined this wonderful, helpful forum.
I have an early model FE Special sedan and am in the process of fitting original rear windscreen using new seal. It would appear that the narrow chrome molding with all the small sinch clips etc. will not fit the new seal, as the new seal is for the later wider molding, I think.
I would appreciate it if there is someone out there reading this who may be able to help me with this conundrum.
I live in Alice Springs N.T.   Back in 1970 we drove an FE Station Wagon on our honeymoon from Alice to Adelaide, up the east coast and nearly got to Cooktown in FNQ. Turned back via Cairns, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and home. Lots of unsealed roads.    (not the same FE I am restoring)
Thank you.
Regards Fred.

Hi Fred ,as far as i am aware the fe-fc rear window rubber and mouldngs are the same , perhaps the rubber is wrong .  cheers :)

The early FE had a different rubber and stainless steel trim to later FE - FC cars. The FE - FC CarClub of Victoria has the early rubbers.

Which reproduction rubber are you using?
My trimmer recently tried to fit the rear windscreen using a Rare Spares rubber and had no luck because the stainless trim would not stay in. I returned it and got a windscreen rubber from Better Auto Rubber in Queensland. He had no problem with the new rubber.
